It is shown that at high particle energies in the frequency spectrum of transition radiation of a stack containing a finite number of plates there arise new nonsaturating maxima due to the radiation interference on the stack butt ends. These maxima lead to the growth of the transition radiation total intensity with increasing particle Lorentz-factor. This phenomenon can be used for the identification of high-energy charged particles.
