The Golden Deposit, in the semi-arid Arctic desert, contains jarosite
precipitating from cold, acidic, microbe-hosting groundwater seeps. It
is chemically similar to jarosite at Meridiani Planum and Mawrth Vallis,
and thus a new depositional analog.
