This paper presents a method developed for determining meteoroid types by semiempirical simulations of observed meteor heights with allowance for fragmentation. Dense stone and iron meteoroids account for 12 percent of all meteoroids entering the earth's atmosphere. The other meteoroids are very rich in volatile compounds, are very porous, or consist mainly of organic compounds.
