Scientific paper

The influence on atmospheric circulation of a flow generated by the
diurnal atmospheric-temperature variation (resulting from the planet's
rotation) is examined. The mean velocity of such flows is evaluated for
different planetary conditions without allowance for the sphericity of
the atmosphere.
