The hard X-ray imaging telescope built at the University of Birmingham flew on the Spacelab 2 mission in July/August 1985. The instrument was primarily designed to study the diffuse X-ray emission from clusters of galaxies. During the mission, observations were successfully made of six clusters, a supernova remnant, and the region around the Galactic center. This paper describes the preparations for the telescope's flight, and the mission operations.
