The form of umbral dots of a sunspot is satisfactorily explained by a mechanism of local perturbations in a magnetic tube of a sunspot along with the theory of Petschek's neutral sheet. The special properties of sunspot umbral dots, such as the temperature, magnetic field and its lifetime are estimated by Petschek's formula. The results obtained agree fairly well with observations.
