We investigate correlations between the gas mass fraction of low surface brightness galaxies (LSBGs) and various evolutionary parameters of them. We have obtained near-infrared broadband photometry and Hα photometry of a large sample of LSBGs to measure the current and the time-averaged SFR in order to constrain their star formation histories (SFHs). The current SFRs of LSBGs generally are higher than their past SFRs while galaxies with large reservoirs of gas have relatively high current SFRs. We find a strong correlation between the ratio of current to past average SFR and the gas mass fraction. We look into various possible star forming scenarios for LSBGs.
