An improvement to the semiliteral solution for determining lunar ephemerides in the main problem of lunar theory obtained by Chapront-Touze (1974) is presented. The method solves the variational equations by a polynomial substitution, and the resulting equations are solved numerically by successive approximations. Solutions to the main problem in lunar theory are then obtained for sets of constants for the years 1900 and 2000, along with the derivatives of the 1900 solution with respect to a set of system constants.
