The plasma region produced by large meteoroids falling in the atmosphere generates radiation which may have a considerable effect on the earth's surface. This paper proposes a theoretical model for determining the distribution of meteoroid-generated radiative flux incident on the earth's surface; the model requires information on the motion of the boundary of the perturbed region in the atmosphere and on the angular distribution of radiation emitted from this region.
