The purpose of this paper is to determine the effect of the shape of the Electron energy distribution function on the E/N dependence of rate coefficients. In particular the paper contains the calculation and comparison of effective collision frequencies for Ne, Ar, Kr, Xe, and CH4 averaged by Maxwell-Boltzmann distribution function and non-equilibrium distribution function obtained by the solving of Boltzmann kinetic equation in two-term approximation.
