Consideration is given to a satellite moving in a rarefied plasma with a velocity much greater than thermal ion velocity and much less than thermal electron velocity in the case when the satellite is illuminated by the sun and therefore emits photoelectrons. The effect of photoelectron emission on the electric field and particle concentrations in the disturbed zone near the satellite is determined.
