Scientific paper

Models for the early Universe are examined with attention given to the
vacuum polarization of conformal-covariant and nonconformal fields. It
is shown that, in the quasi-de Sitter stage, the effective Lagrangian of
the model with vacuum polarization is reduced to a Lagrangian L(R).
Linear fluctuations in models with vacuum polarization are studied.
