The problem of the Earth's dust ring, previously observed close to the libration points L sub 4 and L sub 5 in the Earth-Moon system, is discussed in the light of recent observations and theoretical examinations. In particular, the origin and the character of the dust particles, and the time for which the particles are trapped in these areas, are dealt with.
