Of the nearly one hundred gamma-ray bursts detected by the PHEBUS instrument on board GRANAT, twenty show characteristics which are quite different from the others. These bursts are all short, with durations less than two seconds, are significantly harder, and have time profiles which can best be described as 'square pulses'. Like the ensemble of 'classical' events, these bursts have a mean V/Vmax of 0.37 indicating a deficit of weak bursts. Following a suggestion by Paczynski that a diagram of duration vs. intensity should provide evidence of a cosmologic origin for gamma-ray bursts, we present such a graph for this subset of GRB's.
