Positional variations in the outer boundaries of the radiation belts in magnetically quiet periods were studied in terms of the magnetic time, the orientation of the interplanetary magnetic field, and the angle of inclination of the geomagnetic dipole towards the sun-earth line. Data obtained from the Cosmos-426 satellite were used. Geometric activity and diurnal variation are considered with respect to magnetic time.
