Three US1 shifts are requested to obtain high dispersion spectra of early B stars in the open cluster NGC 3293 in order to study their wind properties. Because NGC 3293 has a main sequence turn off near BO, it contains BO.5-1, class I-V stars. Since its members should have the same age, initial chemical composition and distance, they form a particularly useful sample for studying the dependence of wind properties on intrinsic stellar parameters. The homogeneity of this sample will remove many of the ambiguities which complicate similar studies based on field stars and may reduce the broad scatter in existing mass loss rate versus luminosity relationships significantly.
