A spectrometer for the measurement of gamma rays in the 0.4-7 MeV energy
range has been developed which is based on a 60-mm diameter and height
scintillation NaI(Tl) crystal. Results obtained with this spectrometer
on the Cosmos-1870 satellite indicate that the upper flux limit in the
SN1987A lines is equal to 0.003 quanta sq cm/s.
