The daily soft X-ray flare index was determined from the daily
continuous profile of solar soft X-ray flux, as published in Solar
Geophysics Data. In order to determine the heliographic coordinates of
Long Duration Events (LDEs) we exploited the fact that the soft X-ray
flare emission is uniquely tied with the occurrence of H-alpha flares.
