For asymptotically flat spacetimes containing isometries, relations between asymptotically defined quantities and quantities describing the structure of the sources as defined by Dixon are established. In particular, for stationary spacetimes a mass formula is derived, and in axisymmetric spacetimes the equality of asymptotic and local angular momentum is proved.
