The complete radiation field solution that is basic to radiative transfer problems is established by the F(N) method for the case of plane-parallel media with reflecting boundaries and internal sources. Numerical results are reported for this method, which employs an Lth-order Legendre expansion of the phase function and does not require azimuthal symmetry. It is noted that the F(N) solution for the exit distributions of radiation reported in Devaux and Siewert (1980) has established numerical results that are generally accurate to four significant figures.
