An exploration is presented of the ansatz of nine randomly placed jets in order to both derive the dominant periods in the solar-heating-induced emission spectrum of the Comet Halley nucleus and test the permanence of its spin rate against disruption by the torque from the jets. Nonsingular, matrix differential equations are used to numerically follow the precessing nucleus. A spectrum of eight models from the literature is evaluated vis-a-vis six different constraints. Only the extremely inhomogeneous model presently designated LAM 4 satisfies all six constraints.
