The center-to-limb wavelength shifts of the cores of faint, medium, and strong Fraunhofer lines are presented, and the results and conclusions are compared with those of Adams (1910). The lines considered are: Fe I 3767, Ca II 3968, Ce II 4222, Ca I 4227, Na I 5896, Ba II 6497 and K I 7699. Measurement of the Ce II 4222 line reveals a line equivalent to 22 milli-angstroms in width, contradicting Adams' conclusion that rare-earth lines show small displacements. Agreement was shown between present observations and Adams' finding that strong Fraunhofer lines show no appreciable displacement between center and limb; this fact implies a decoupling between the granular velocity field and the brightness field for these strong lines. The case of Ca II proved to be an exception, with points exhibiting a strong downflow at disk center and decreasing to the Einstein redshift of 636 m/s at the limb. Adams' conclusion that a few lines are shifted to the violet can be demonstrated, and this effect was found to be due to blends.
