Diamond: Interstellar, Kinetic Oxidation, Thermoluminescence
Scientific paper
The investigations of kinetic constants of on oxidation process by air oxygen and of artificial induced by X-rays thermoluminescence (TL) of the interstellar diamonds were carried on. Here we consider the obtained data for diamond released from Allende CV3 chondrite. The diamond was isolated using the procedure similar to that used by Tang et al. The diamond aliquot for TL analyses was additionally treated with HF/HCl at ~80 degrees C. The measurement data of the activation energy (E) and value 1g(A sigma) where A is preexponential of the Arrenious equation, sigma is the diamond specific surface are given in Table 1. The curve of the artificial induced by X-rays TL-glow for Allende diamond is shown on Fig.1 and the correlations of the integral TL-glow in certain temperature ranges are given in Table 2. All these data correspond with those for synthetic ultra-dispersion diamonds of the detonatic synthesis. Thus the data obtained for Allende diamond confirm the suggestion that the interstellar diamonds can be formed at fast unequilibrium process from chemical connected and/or amorphous carbon in gaseous phase by the affects of shock waves.
