Several lines of evidence favor a cataclysmic bombardment of the Moon at
3.9 Ga. We have identified lunar impact melt breccias that may be older
the major nearside basins. Crystallization ages of these pre-Nectarian
impact melts may provide a further test of the cataclysm hypothesis.
