The AGN Paradigm and the various tests discussed at this Meeting are
summarized. A massive black hole accreting from a disc appears to be
favored by many but the details are vague. Arguments are given against
the alternative idea that AGN are powered by supernovae, and in favor of
a rapid electron acceleration mechanism.
