The CMS (Compact Moun Solenoid) experiment is a general purpose detector designed to explore the physic of proton-proton collisions at the centre-of-mass energy of 14 TeV. The CMS electromagnetic calorimeter (ECAL) will play a major role in the study of the electroweak symmetry breaking, particularly through the exploration of the Higgs boson sector. In order to test the ECAL performance, a full supermodule with the final mechanics, cooling and electronics was exposed in a test beam during the summer 2004. The most relevant results obtained at this test beam are presented together with the calibration procedure and its comparison with the precalibration obtained from the laboratory optical measurements and from cosmic rays.
