The spacecraft Helios-A conducts investigations regarding physical phenomena related to solar processes and galactic effects in the vicinity of the sun. The spacecraft carries ten automatic scientific instruments for the measurement of the particle characteristics of the solar plasma and the related electric and magnetic fields. The telemetry system used consists of four subsystems, including antennas, receiver, data processing equipment, and transmitter. Details of system design are discussed along with operational questions.
