This report describes the lunar satellite for detailed mapping and resource investigation. For this mission, the following sensors will be required: gamma ray spectrometer and X-ray spectrometer for element analysis, visible to near infrared imaging devices, and Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) to acquire high resolution multispectrum and stereo images for lithological investigation and mapping, and a laser altimeter. These devices will be used in the following two missions: mapping and resource investigation using a two-ton-class L satellite in Mission Case A, and landing experiment using 1.5-ton-class lunar Polar Orbiter plus 500-kg-class moon landing test explorer in Mission Case B. In these missions, the whole moon can be observed in 5 months, and the compressed data will transmit to the ground stations on real time. When the satellite is behind the moon, these data will be recorded on data recorder. The satellite system was reviewed for each mission and required fuel, power and communication circuits, as well as heat budget were analyzed. On the basis of these data discussed were development project and operation.
