The well known long-period variable T UMi of Mira type has ranked among the most observed stars becouse of its strange behaviour. 25 years ago, the rapid decrease of period started - from original 301d long period to todays 200 - 220 days. Such behaviour can be explained as He-burning in shell surrounding the stelar nucleus. Author presents his CCD multicolor photometry of T UMi as well.
