A method for synthesizing the light curve of a close binary system consisting of a normal star and a compact object is presented. The compact object is surrounded by an asymmetric disk of complex form: the disk is geometrically thin around the relativistic object and geometrically thick at the edge. The disk's asymmetry is due to its thickening in the region where the gaseous stream from the normal star filling its Roche lobe collides with the matter of the axisymmetric part of the disk.
