Supersymmetric theories introduce superpartners with an odd R-parity which makes the lightest neutralino stable, leading to a missing energy signature and a natural dark matter candidate. They require new charged and neutral Higgs bosons and may also include, beyond the minimal model (MSSM), an extra singlet coupled through a λH1H2S superpotential (N/nMSSM), with possibly an extra U(1) gauge symmetry (USSM). New light neutral particles very weakly coupled to ordinary ones, such as a light U boson or light dark matter particles, may also exist.
