During a supernova collapse, instead of the transport equation, a reduced leakage scheme is used to calculate the change of the neutrinos. The trapping density can be adjusted by changing the parameters in the scheme and a reasonable value is obtained. Before the trapping density is reached, in the specific range of density (1010 - 5×1011 g/cm3), we discuss a parametric method of making substantial change in the rate of electron capture.
