We analyse the interactions of superconducting cosmic strings (SCS) with the plasma in the early Universe from the point of view of the cosmological scenario proposed by Ostriker, Thompson and Witten. The plasma dissipation is an efficient energy loss mechanism of a loop, especially in the early stages of its evolution and at the cusps. We show that the interaction with the plasma should be included in the equations of motion of SCS loops.
