FORS, the FOcal Reducer/low dispersion Spectrograph, has been designed
as an all-dioptric Cassegrain instrument for the wavelength range from
330 nm to 1100 mm. The FORS schedule foresees a second commissioning
period after the assessment of the data from the first commissioning;
after this the instrument is officially handed over to ESO.
