High spatial resolution spectroscopy will be obtained to investigate the gas and stellar kinematics of sub-arcsecond structure in the nuclear region of a Seyfert 2/ Liner galaxy NGC5194 {M51}. This galaxy is known to possess [OIII] extended bright nuclear knots. The gas dynamics of these bright nuclear knots will be probed via the [OII]/[OIII] ratio to determine the ionization parameter for these nuclear knots. The [SII] lines and H-beta will evaluate the electron density. Futher indicators of the gas dynamics, [OII], [NeIII, [NII], and H-alpha will also be obtained. The nuclear stellar population will be characterized in the region of 3000 - 5500A. In addition, the nuclear mass of the galaxy will be probed using the Ca II triplet as an indicator of the stellar dynamics.
