Mesosphere Lower Thermosphere Photometer (MLTP) has been designed at ARIES for studying mesosphere lower thermosphere coupling processes as well as the effect of solar activities on earth's atmosphere. MLTP utilizes f/2 optics with 4 degree circular field of view. It has seven narrow bandwidth (FWHM ~ 4") interference filters mounted on a geared filter plate housed in filter chamber under precise temperature controlled conditions. Out of these seven filters, filter at 630nm which is meant to monitor Ionospheric-F region airglow emission due to atomic Oxygen has been used for solar activity studies. MLTP has been successfully installed and made operational at space weather lab of ARIES.
