The concept of asymptotic similarity is extended to the planetary boundary layer. Similarity functions A, B, and C of the planetary boundary layer are discussed using Rossby-number similarity theory. Simplified theoretical expressions of functions A, B, and C are used to calculate the numerical values of these functions for a wide range of atmospheric conditions seen during experiments in Koorin, Australia.
