An analysis of the relationship of solar type-II radio bursts with H-alpha flares has been presented. The study shows that 75 percent of type-II bursts is associated with bright H-alpha flares of importance equal to or less than 1. The two-ribbon H-alpha flares are 15 times more strongly associated with type-II bursts than the compact flares. Type-II bursts start 1-15 min after the onset of H-alpha flares. The time interval between start of type-II bursts and peak of H-alpha flares is +/- 5 min. This differs from the results found by earlier investigators. The 66 percent of type-II bursts is associated with flares' bright points in H-alpha emissions.
