A novel method is proposed for determining the differential energy spectra of X-rays of cosmic origin in the D-region of the ionosphere. The method relies on measurements of the vertical profile of the rate of ionization of the D region, which is determined from data on radio wave propagation at various frequencies. Attention is given to wave propagation at frequencies of 164, 182, 210, and 245 kHz on paths ranging from 690 to 1000 km. The method for determining the differential spectra is found to be effective for a wide range of ionizing flux densities.
