Methods of X-ray structural analysis, transmission electron microscopy, and X-ray spectral analysis are used in investigating individual grains of the clinopyroxenes (0.37-0.9 mm fraction) in three samples from the Luna 24 soil column. Data on the phase and structure of the clinopyroxenes are used in speculating on sources as well as on the thermal history of the sources.
