The regional seismic phase, Lg, which involves shear wave reverberations in the crust, is strongly attenuated along propagation paths in northern and eastern Tibet. Robust estimates of the attenuation quality factor, QLg, in these regions are obtained using a two-station, two-event stacking method for broadband, vertical component Lg data in the passband 0.2-1.0 Hz. We find average 1 Hz QLg values, Qo, of 79 +/- 4 in northern central Tibet and 119 +/- 17 in eastern Tibet for the 0.2-0.5 Hz passband. Localized regions of eastern Tibet have Qo estimates ranging from 66 to 121. These results confirm and augment the spatial coverage of recent estimates of low Qo values in north central and south central Tibet, and support the notion of widespread partial melting of the crust throughout the Plateau.
