Previous workers have reported an error in the calibration of the Digico Anisotropy Delineator which produces values for principal susceptibility axes that are too large. The effect of this error on the commonly used P parameters is studied. The order of magnitude estimations of this effect show this to be typically < 5%. The Digico programme error reflects directly on any analyses carried out on axial magnitudes, and as such on the empirical relationships published by the present author. Consequently, the parameters used in strain to anisotropy correlations have been inaccurate. The data have been recalculated. A power relation of the type (Xi/Xj=(li/lja is still found to hold. Xi and Xj are two of the three principal susceptibility axes of the magnetic ellipsoid, and li and lj are two of the three principal axes of the strain ellipsoid. The correlation exponent, a, is affected by the changes. The change in one of the data sets (from North Wales) brings the correlation in line with that found previously using measurements on a torque meter.
