A method for reconstructing a stellar object from its short-exposure images without demanding unresolved reference-star data is presented. An error metric for phase differences is newly introduced. The image reconstruction is conducted to minimize the error metric by a conjugate-gradient procedure. Results of computer simulations and the reconstruction of a binary star are shown.
