Theoretical concepts in stellar magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) are considered. These include the explanation of stellar magnetic fields, the mechanism for the generation of stellar magnetic fields by the dynamo theory, and the developments in the theory of turbulent dynamos. The article review problems in stellar MHD such as the internal structure of magnetic stars, the peculiar A stars, cosmic dynamos, the interaction of turbulence and magnetic fields, and the role of magnetic fields in star formation.
