The dynamics of an electron beam injected along the magnetic field after the establishment of an equilibrium distribution of plasma electrons is analyzed theoretically. The shape, internal structure, and dynamic characteristics of the beam are determined with reference to the design of active plasma experiments in the ionosphere. A qualitative assessment of the effect of plasma with a finite temperature on the steady state of an electron beam injected into the ionosphere is presented.
