The statistical properties of the initial configuration of texture-seeded density fluctuations are reported using the results of numerical simulations. It is shown that, although they obey non-Gaussian statistics and though a hierarchical behavior is achieved in the linear regime, galactic-scale fluctuations are practically Gaussian initially. Hence the texture model should be no better than the standard Gaussian model.
