After a brief review of weak lensing by large scale structures, I will present the most recent results from the Canada France Hawaii Telescope Legacy Survey and the COSMOS survey. I will discuss the roadmap for the future lensing projects, SNAP and LSST and give a broad picture of where gravitational lensing is heading to. Emphasis will be put on challenges to meet for weak lensing to become a high precision cosmology tool.
