Giant HII Regions are the most spectacular regions of star formation seen in normal galaxies. As such, they serve as important templates for understanding the processes at work in starburst and ultraluminous galaxies, as well as star formation seen in galaxies at high redshift. Understanding star formation in Giant HII Regions involves studying not only the young massive stars but also the molecular gas from which these stars formed. In my talk I will review recent results on both the high mass stars and the molecular interstellar medium in nearby Giant HII Regions.
