The forced and damped sine-Gordon equation describes a large number of different physical systems. In the present report we discuss the structure of its self-similar solutions describing sequences of equidistant solitons (soliton superstructures) moving with constant velocity and investigate their linear stability. We hope that our investigation appears useful to the geophysical community due to the universality of the equation being considered.
