The stability of cold neutron stars with respect to nonradial oscillations which cause gravitational radiation is examined. Numerical calculations have been performed for a definite equation of state up to a central density of 1018 g/cm3, for the multipoles of order l=2, 3, 4, 5. It is found that no instability occurs for such multipoles.
